River Frontage

Where the road ends, the river begins.

Tucked at the end of a quiet road on a full private acre, The Last Acre gives you more than 200 feet of Whitefish River frontage and one of the most peaceful settings in the Flathead Valley. The property shares a north border with Kings Loop Park, the front gate keeps things private, and the fully fenced yard makes it a favorite for families — and the dogs they bring along.

Inside is comfortable and unfussy. Outside is where the property earns its name. And the location... ten minutes to the airport, thirty to forty-five minutes to Glacier, and manages to feel remote without actually being remote.

Living room interior
Inside the home

A home, not a hotel room.

Three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, sleeping eight. The king primary is yours for the deepest sleep of your trip; the two flex rooms work equally well for kids, friends, or a multi-generational mix.

A fully equipped kitchen, dedicated workspace, fast Wi-Fi, washer and dryer, and the kind of lived-in comfort you stop noticing once you settle in.

Riverfront and outdoor space
Outdoors

The river is yours for the week.

More than two hundred feet of Whitefish River frontage runs along the back of the property. Guests fish, wade, and float from their own backyard. The fenced acre means dogs run free and kids have room to roam.

A fire pit, lawn furniture, and a children's play structure round out the outdoor space. Bring tubes, fishing rods, or just a camp chair and watch the light change on the water.

Perfect spot for our family of five adults and one pup visiting Kalispell. I wish we had stayed longer to have more time to enjoy the deck and seating overlooking the Whitefish River in the backyard.

We stayed here on our trip to Glacier National Park, about a 40-minute drive to the West entrance. The house was clean, had lots of amenities, and is on a beautiful riverside location. We were greeted by a deer pretty much every day. The fenced-in yard was perfect for our dog!

Your hosts

Local hosts. Local knowledge.

We’re a Kalispell-based hosting team, and The Last Acre has been a labor of love for more than five years. We typically respond within an hour and know the area inside and out — the best trail in Glacier, the right brewery in Whitefish, where to find the best cherries in July.

Welcome to the river. We’re glad you’re here.

Good to know

Common questions.

How does check-in work?

Self check-in with an August smart lock — you’ll receive your unique code 24 hours before arrival. Check-in starts at 3:00 PM, check-out is 10:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out is sometimes possible depending on the schedule; just ask.

Is the Wi-Fi good enough to work remotely?

Yes. Wi-Fi clocks 29 Mbps — fast enough for video calls, streaming, and a full workday. There’s a dedicated workspace in the home so you can extend a stay without sacrificing a workday.

Can we use the river? What about fishing?

The Whitefish River runs gently along the back of the property with more than 200 feet of frontage. Guests wade, float tubes, and fish from the backyard — trout are common. The water stays cold even in summer, so swimming is a brisk dip more than a long soak. A Montana fishing license is required and easy to get online.

Is the property kid- and dog-friendly?

Yes to both. The fully fenced acre keeps kids and dogs safely contained, and there’s a children’s play structure outside. Cribs and high chairs are available on request — just mention what you need at booking. Dogs are welcome with a one-time $65 pet fee.

How far is Glacier National Park?

The West Glacier entrance is a 30–45 minute drive depending on season and traffic. In summer, the Going-to-the-Sun Road requires timed-entry vehicle reservations from the National Park Service — we’ll share current planning info in the welcome guide so you can book your slot well ahead of your stay.

Is the home open in winter?

Year-round. The home is fully heated and well-insulated, and the driveway is plowed after snow events. Whitefish Mountain Resort is about 30 minutes away for skiing, and the river runs picturesque even in the cold months.

Where do we get groceries?

Full grocery stores are about 12–15 minutes away in Kalispell. The Kalispell Farmers Market runs Tuesday and Saturday mornings in summer for local produce, cherries, and baked goods. We keep the kitchen stocked with the basics — coffee, oil, salt, pepper, dish soap — so you can settle in before the first store run.
